*One month later*Everybody was at the pool playing volleyball. Charlotte accidentally hit it over the fence, so Bambi got out to go get it. As she ran back, Emily grabbed her arm and pointed at Bambis stomach.Emily: Has someone been eating too many Doritos lately?Bambi: I dont think so.Charlotte: Well, then what happened?Bambi: What is wrong with you people?Emily poked the visible bump sticking out between Bambis hips.Bambi: I- I dont know what that is! Im being completely serious here.Charlotte: Well, it almost looks like youre*whispers* pregnant!Emily: Bambi, remember your and Nicks little shuffle?Bambi: NO, no, no! That cant be it! No!Charlotte: Youd better make double sure.They all went to the drugstore to buy a few things. Among those things was a box of pregnancy tests. They went back to the hotel and Bambi dashed upstairs. When she finished, she came out to find her friends waiting for her. She took one look at their anxious faces and broke down crying. They gasped and hugged her. They went down stairs and told the guys the news. Everyone sat around looking at each other awkwardly. Suddenly Bambi burst out.Bambi: AAHH! How could I have been so STUPID?! Im only SEVENTEEN! What will my parents say? My dad will wring my neck!Nick: Oh, and you cant imagine what my dad will do to me?Kevin and Joe snickered; Nick threw a pillow at them.Emily: Bambi, sweetie, youll be fine.Bambi: Yes, I will. Suddenly, a huge truck came out of nowhere. Joe, Nick, Kevin, and Emily ran backwards just in time, but the truck mowed over Charlotte and Bambi. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. The truck, Bambi and Charlotte turning around, being thrown and partially dragged across the ground, the sickening screams and *crack* of bones, and finally another set of piercing screams of agony being cut off sharply by a squeal of the trucks tires jetting off..Joe, Nick, Kevin, Emily: NOOO!!!They ran over to Bambi and Charlottes mangled bodies. Charlotte had a few shards of broken glass jabbed in her forehead, apparently from the trucks window. Bambi had a huge gash running from her temple to halfway down her cheek. They didnt move, but were barely breathing short, jagged breaths. Joe took out his cell phone and called the ambulance. It arrived a little bit later and carried them away. Nick looked up long enough to see Bambis eyes flutter open, then close again. They followed the ambulance all the way to the hospital. When they got there, they jumped out and ran to the stretchers. Kevin clutched Charlottes wounded hand and Nick stared into Bambis blank face, searching for signs of life. They had to stay away long enough for the nurses to get them into hospital gowns and stick IVs into their busted arms. Nick couldnt remember the last time he had seen so much blood on just one person. The nurses allowed them to share one hospital room, and they left them with their friends.Kevin: Charlotte, can you hear me? Please talk to me!Nick: Bambi, Bambi, baby, give me some sign that youre alive, please! As they tried to awaken their friends, nurses came in and began cleaning some of the outside cuts and gashes.Emily: Charlotte, please dont die. Not now, please!Joe put his arm around her and kissed her forehead. She pulled away and sat on the bed by her friends leg.Emily: *whispering* No, no, no, please, Charlotte, dont leave me. Weve known each other since we were kids.Joe could hear her muffled crying and hated to see her this way. Nick took Bambis hand, but dropped it. It was colder than he expected. A doctor came in the room.Doctor: Hello, everyone. Im Dr. Vega, and I already know all of you. My daughters are quite fans. So we have Charlotte and Bambi here.Emily: We hate to see them like this.Vega: Im sure you do.He waved in a nurse.Nurse: Hello. Update PLUS I forgot to mention:The sonotech said the baby looked great, she even checked a few things she wasn't really supposed to, like his brain, placement, placenta, and so forth. :) He is head down, and facing my spine currently. Steadily kicking away, making little thumbs that you can ACTUALLY SEE AS OF TODAY! Which was exciting b/c first time Joel got to see our baby boy kick. The tech said she couldn't tell us exactly how far along we're showing to be b/c she can't do measurements which is what is needed to determine since this is a fetal imaging place not a medical place, but based on everything she's seen 18-20 weeks... So maybe we'll be moving up a week or 4? Who knows! Also w/ all the hell we had trying to get this done, not to mention we paid for EIGHT pictures and only got 3, I emailed them and they told us we can come back any time to do it again for more pictures or get a $100 off our 4D scan in our 3rd trimester, up to us!
