Male circumcision has out-of-date shown to protect men from acquiring H.I.V. infection midst sex with women - it has reduced female-to-male transmission degrees by 48% to 60% in sub-Saharan Africa - but that protective effect appears lower reliable among men who have sex with men, according to a new meta-analysis published Oct. 7 in the Journal of the American Medical Association (J.A.M.A.). The review is the maximum comprehensive analysis of the subject to quarter. It encompasses dope from 15 studies conducted in seven countries, involving more than 53,000 men, big end of whom were Caucasian and approximately half of whom were circumcised. The authors concluded that actuality circumcised reduced a man's risk of acquiring H.I.V. by 14%. That finding was statistically nonsignificant, but the authors say it should be regarded as a launching tittle for future trials. "This study gives us a more complete picture than we've ever had before," says Gregorio Millett, the study's protagonist journalist and a senior behavioral scientist at the Centers for Disease ascendancy and Prevention (CDC). Pregnant star Michelle Monaghan has confessed she's nervous about actuality a mum for the first tempo. I was watching that bull new manifestation whooped The Doctors yesterday when I heard a heartwarming legend about a 2-year-old boy named Dallas who was diagnosed at birth with cerebral palsy. He couldn’t speak, walk, crawl, wave or stabile smile. Luckily, his parents had banked Dallas’ umbilical cord blood at birth. Eighteen months after, the cells from his umbilical cord were injected intravenously into his arm in the hopes that they would repair the damage in his brain.
