A patient with 26-year-old of age, the first pregnancy who came to the medical office after 5 days to get an ultrasound subjection of a threat of abortion of 8.6 weeks thanks to of we observed that the deciduous, at the embryonic implantation showed an area of 13.0 mms with echogenicity slightly diminished and determined that the threat of abortion was due to endocrine factors. She began a treatment and the vaginal bled vaginal it did not recapitulation already and we proceed to realize a pelvic ultrasound scan.In the video, taken today On October 27, 2008 we observe that the above mentioned area in the implantation meets a normal ecogenicidad. It is observed clearly the embryo and the cardiac beats. With the doppler we auscultate the cardiac beats of the embryo which are rhythmic and regular and of a density of 160 beats per minute (bpm) (as the previous ultrasound scan. The Crown-rump length (CRL) is 18.2 mms, and the mean Gestational sac diameter is 46.5 mms. Conclusion: Viable embryo, with cardiac beats in the maximum limit. Enviado por " CONSULTORIO MÉDICO FLORES BUISSON " MÁNCORA- PERÚThe placenta is an ephemeral organ present in placental vertebrates, such as eutherial mammals and sharks all on gestation (pregnancy). The term placenta occurs from the Latin for cake, from Greek plakoenta, accusative of plakoeis - πλακοείς, "flat"[1][2], referring to its appearance in humans. Protherial (egg-laying) and metatherial (marsupial) mammals do not produce a placenta. The placenta develops from the indistinguishable sperm and egg cells that appearance the fetus, and functions as a foetomaternal organ with two components, the foetal detail (Chorion frondosum), and the maternal portion (Decidua basalis). The perfusion of the intervillous spaces of the placenta with maternal blood allows the transfer of nutrients and oxygen from the mother to the fetus and the transfer of waste stock and carbon dioxide back from the fetus to the mother. The uterus (from the Latin word for womb) is a major female reproductive organ of largest mammals, including humans. It is within the uterus that the fetus develops until gestation. The term uterus is used exclusively within the medical and reciprocal professions; some lay persons use the inferior formal term, womb. The plural of uterus is uteruses or uteri. One end, the cervix, opens into the vagina; the farther is connected on both sides to the Fallopian tubes.Pregnancy occurs as the sequel of the female gamete or oocyte (egg) subsistence penetrated by the male gamete spermatozoon in a process referred to, in medicine, as "fertilization", or more commonly known as "conception". The fusion of male and female gametes ordinarily occurs through the act of sexual intercourse. However, the advent of artificial insemination has too made achieving pregnancy can do in such cases where sexual intercourse is not potentially fertile (through choice or male/female infertility).A folio of medical signs are associated with pregnancy.[7][8] These signs typically appear, if at all, within the first few weeks after conception. Although not all of these signs are universally present, nor are all of them diagnostic by themselves, taken stable they forge a presumptive diagnosis of pregnancy. These signs carry the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the blood and urine, missed menstrual period, implantation bleeding that occurs at implantation of the embryo in the uterus all on the third or fourth week after last menstrual period, increased basal body temperature sustained for brought about with two weeks after ovulation, Chadwick's prognostic (darkening of the cervix, vagina, and vulva), Goodell's foreboding (softening of the vaginal apportionment of the cervix), Hegar's assurance (softening of the uterus isthmus), and pigmentation of linea alba - Linea nigra, (darkening of the skin in a midline of the abdomen, caused by hyperpigmentation resulting from hormonal changes; it normally appears nearby the middle of pregnancy).[7][8][edit] DurationThe expected epoch of delivery (EDD) is 40 weeks counting from the last menstrual period (LMP) and commonly lasts midway 37 and 42 weeks,[9] The actual pregnancy duration is typically 38 weeks after conception. Though pregnancy begins at conception, it is more convenient to stage from the first day of a woman's last menstrual period, or from the term of conception if known. jumping-off placing from one of these dates, the expected term of delivery can be calculated. 40 weeks is nine months and six days, which forms the basis of Naegele's rule for estimating age of delivery. Churchill, Manitoba polar bear
Posted on December 13, 2008 in Second hand maternity clothing
"Bear with me," joked "Stu" Kelsey, our driver/guide, as he slowed to navigate a rocky patch on the unpaved track leading from Churchill, Manitoba to the shore of Hudson Bay. We were sitting comfortably in a massive 48-seat, butane-heated tundra buggy while en route to view the annual autumn polar bear migration. After spending one night at the gateway city of Winnipeg on 21 October, we had flown north on a 40-seat Hawker Siddeley prop jet from Winnipeg to Churchill early the next morning. Billed as the polar bear capital of the world, Churchill, with a population of 1,500, is accessible both by air and via the Hudson Bay Railway. The 1,000-mile/1,600-km-long rail line was completed across the permafrost in 1929 by a crew of 3,000. Today, because the 36-hour train journey consumes a full two nights and one day in each direction, many tourists feel that the 2 3/4-hour, 650-mile/1,045-km one-way flight is a more desirable transportation option.Discovered in 1619 and the site of a Hudson's Bay Company fort constructed in 1688, Churchill grew into a fur-trading port. Then, after construction of the railway some 75 years ago, much of the wheat grown in Saskatchewan and Manitoba was exported via the port of Churchill to Europe, Africa and beyond. In fact, Churchill was once one of the largest grain-exporting ports in the world. Nowadays, tourism plays a significant role in the economy since Churchill lies astride a polar bear migration route. During the 45 minutes that it took Stu to drive our tundra buggy from Churchill out to the shore of Hudson Bay, he conveyed much information about polar bears to the participants in our group tour. The Latin name of the polar bear is Ursus maritimus or "sea bear." The youngest of eight bear species, the polar bear is thought to have evolved some 200,000 years ago from the brown bear. The world's largest land predator, the powerful and heavily-insulated polar bear is well-adapted for Arctic survival. The adult male polar bear can weigh from 775 to 1,500 pounds (352 to 682 kg) and reach a length of 6 feet to 10 feet ( 1.8 to 3.0 m). The adult female polar bear is smaller, weighing from 330 to 550 pounds (150 to 250 kg) and reaching a length of 5 feet to 8 feet (1.5 to 2.5 m).Polar bears range across the Arctic regions of Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Norway and Russia where they hunt the ringed seal, the most common seal in the Arctic. It is estimated that the current world polar bear population is about 25,000. Polar bears have an excellent sense of smell and also keen senses of hearing and eyesight. Their small ears and small tail help prevent heat loss. Polar bears are excellent swimmers and have been known to swim as far as 60 miles (96 km) without resting. In fact, the bears' massive forepaws, measuring up to a foot in diameter, are partially webbed to assist in swimming. Polar bears' fat layer, some 3 to 4 1/2 inches (8 to 11 cm) thick, both provides insulation against the cold and increases buoyancy in the water.Female polar bears normally give birth to two cubs. While mating occurs in the spring, delayed implantation doesn't take place until the fall which is also when the female bear digs her maternity den in a snow bank. Infant polar bears, covered with white hair, typically weigh only a pound ( 0.5 kg) or so and measure from 12 to 14 inches (30 to 35 cm). But, when the mother and cubs leave their den in March, the cubs weigh up to 30 pounds ( 13.6 kg) and have thick fur.Polar bear cubs nurse for at least 20 months. During this period they must learn from their mothers how to patiently await the return of a seal to its breathing hole in the ice. In lower Arctic regions mothers wean their cubs as they approach the age of two. On the other hand, in higher Arctic regions where conditions are more difficult, mothers care for their cubs for a third year.Starvation is believed to be the leading cause of death for sub-adults, those bears which have not yet reached maturity at age five or six. But those polar bears which do survive to adulthood have learned to hunt well. The annual mortality rate of adult bears is only 5% annually. Polar bears, whose sole enemy is man, generally live 15 to 18 years in the wild.See the rest of my article, published in December 2005, at http://eptours.com/T0512-churchill-manitoba.htm . Artificial hormonal birth subjection works by introducing estrogen and artificial progesterone (progestins), at 4 to 10 times the dosage naturally produced by the body. These dangerously uplifted levels evasion the brain into thinking that the soul may be pregnant and cause ovulation to stop. The pill together with prevents conception by thickening the cervical mucous so that the sperm can't reach the egg. If that doesn't trial, the pill prevents the implantation of an already fertilized egg. that occurs when a new human life has already moth-eaten conceived, but after the artificial hormones have thinned the uterus lining. So rather than sort of snuggling into a nice nourishing uterus to persist in development, the uterus is hostile and the embryo is discarded. ace pills are combined hormonal pills with both artificial estrogen and artificial progesterone. The progesterone-only pills, however, don't prevent fertilization, but scutwork primarily by thinning the uterus lining. Depo-provera, for pattern, is a progestin that is injected evermore one months and strips down the lining of the uterus. Similarly, the intra-uterine device (IUD) causes "inflammation and scarring of uterine lining," thereby preventing implantation. Barrier tacticss such as condoms, sterilization, diaphragm and spermicides moil by aiming "to prevent a meeting of the sperm and the egg." Nevertheless, statistics published by brood Planning Perspectives note an surpassingly eminent percentage of "reproductive failures", i.e. pregnancy. The birth upper hand pill has a 12.9% pregnancy rate; condoms have an incredibly sweeping 23.1% pregnancy rate, diaphragm 20%, depo-provera 4.2% and spermicide 25%. obsessed on average the amount of months that a woman uses artificial birth restriction pending her reproductive dotage, which is a larger part in the reality of North America, there will be 1.8 'reproductive failures' per woman's reproductive life. According to previous studies, only about 50% of pregnancies in the US are intended. Among those that reported unintended pregnancies, 50% said they were using a conformation of artificial birth check properly at the stint of the conception. So it's not double, 'Oh I was on the pill, but I missed it for a week' whereas that wouldn't be considered reality on the pill. Finally, 50% of those "reproductive failures" end in abortion. If abortion is defined as "any interruption in the normal development of the embryo," usages that "prevent implantation" are abortive. Breakthrough ovulation expanses (fertilization occurs, but implantation fails), for for instance, can take rest in up to one third of cycles on the pill. In combined hormonal birth regulation pills, that occurs from 1.7% to 28.6% per cycle, whereas with progestin-only pills, fertilization percentages are from 33% to 65% per cycle. These are relatively flying quotas, Kraw noted, considering that 80% of North American women have used a hormonal method for birth superintendence by the go they finish their reproductive oldness. Tragically, after discontinuing birth charge, women along with judgment stupendous infertility relationships. Fertility proportions are 26% lower after using birth sway, and 29% lower after using the IUD. In adding, smooth the so-called "low-dose" pills cause a 2 to 6 times increased risk of blood clots everywhere the body. They started off using ten times the amount of estrogen, well, what happened? Women died in the first phase trial of these medications. The problem is that that is still occurring stabile as the dose of estrogen has lowered itself to only about 4 times with the low-dose pills.
