Kats POVI disposed of the bodies quickly making an escape from the hospital through the window. I smelled the air, it was so fresh, so natural, much better than the medicine fumes in that hospital. I walked down an aisle, where the smell hit me again. It was an aisle with fresh meat all around me. I walked the other way covering my nose. I felt my fangs come out again. I walked over to a checkout lane, and was out in a split second. I went to the park across the street and sat down on a bench to eat. I was starving. I put on my watch that I bought and my big hoodie. When I was finished, I through my trash away and ran as fast as I could, to my family, that will probably think I'm a freak. I mean what if they dont even live here anymore! But then I caught a scent. It smelled like unborn baby smell. ANd then I had a flashback of Grace's pregnancy. The scent was fresh, so that means they still live here. All I have to do is follow the scent. I have hope after all. I actually smiled. Mia's P.O.V.Molly and I were sat in Miss Lawrence's constitution class. Miss Lawrence was one of those teachers, who wore jam jars for glasses and had no fashion sense whatsoever. CHAPTER FOURTEEN!!!!!!!!!___________________________Two weeks had passed. Chelsea was back to her old self and ready to play her Omaha show. It was October 27, the night before her cd release. The Qwest Center was packed, and people were in the halls just to listen to the new material. Out in the crowed, becides her fans, were her mom, dad, grandpa, friends, and other family. Chelsea honored Sarah before the concert for helping her with the cd. Tara and Kevin came, followed by Nick and..Joe! Taylor Swift also came, but sat across the venue from JB. And there, front row, to her right, the sear next to the front of the stage and the cat walk, sat Brent. She couldn't help but smile when she looked at him in that seat. The concert started out with "Jepardy". Everyone was out of their seats having a good time.(*many, many songs later*)Chelsea(happy and out of breath): This last song is a remake I did. It's called Maricles Happen, and is fits. It fits with my band-my brothers, my loves! It fites with my fans! It fits with my 5 years I've been blessed with, the two bands I've been in, the 8 solo cds I've made, and 4 cds I've been a part of with my old bands, and the numerous soundtracks. The movies and TV shows I've been a part of. My boys (*turns and points to her band*), this is for you!!!She really got into the song. She couldn't help but look at Brent--it was almost discribing them. "Nah" she thought "It's about my band and me!" After the concert Chelsea invited everyone over to the next room for a post-hang out until midnight. There would be pictures, autographs, dancing, Wii, and other fun activities. Brent was the last to walk in, but the first to catch Chelsea's eye. He took her in his arms.Chelsea: I was begining to think you wouldn't come.Brent: I wouldn't miss a change with my baby--er--uh--babies. Plus, I want to be the first to get the new cd!Chelsea: Hate to say it, but you'll have to be #4. Grandpa gets the first, second goes to mom and dad, and third goes to Sarah. Her's will be the first one autographed since she helped with it, so you'll be #2.Brent: I can tell you love me. Just kidding!The party was blastin'! Everyone was having a great time. Chelsea's parents and grandpa had gone back to the hotel, but promised to return in time for the cd give out. Chelsea was giving all her friends and family a free copy of both the regular and special edition (more pictures/footage/dvd/and Maricles Happen) for free. Her fans would have to pay $5.00 for the regular and $10.00 for the special edition. After tonight, all cds released were $13.50 and $19.50. At 12:00am, midnight, Chelsea took the mic.Chelsea: I'm so glad to see all of you have stayed around to celebrate the new cd! Jepardy will not be released in stores until 5am, so these are seriously the first ones sold! My first copy is going to my grandpa. Not enough words express my love for him. My mom has alzheimers. She is in a nursing home now b/c she needs 24 hr/day care. She has a sweet roommate who is very attached to mom, also. Mom has really taken under her wing and cares for her, making sure she gets to activities and meals. In that vein, mom gets upset when Betty exhibits any independence. Mom's disease makes it hard for her to formulate coherent thoughts and ideas when you question her about things so she makes very vague, generalized statements (like "just everything"). Here I am trying to figure out what was bothering her that particular day and the hilarious conversation that ensues. I am so glad she has not yet lost her crazy sense of humor!Side note--her roommate does NOT drink or leave her clothes lying around, nor would my mom cause any harm to her roommate, which is why we laughed so hard!! We've done a deal with Wienerworld, a major music DVD company, and the same company who originally released our classic documentary "The Strange World Of Northern Soul", and we are now doing the definitive DVD box set. A five disc set of 200 performances called "Northern Soul's Greatest 200 Floorfillers". This uses some songs from "The Strange World Of Northern Soul" which are completely re-edited, so they look fresh and sparkling new. All the previous video effects done in the 1990s are gone forever, consigned to history. Plus loads and loads of never before seen videos, many of which have sat in the can untouched for many many years. Plus some newly recorded tributes to the classics. Here, Detroit legend Lorraine Chandler sings her Northern Soul anthem from the days of Blackpool Mecca, "I Can't Change". Motor City soul singer, songwriter, and producer Lorraine Chandler was born and raised in Detroit, and together with Jack Ashford, they penned "I'm Gone," a 1966 single for singer Eddie Parker. After collaborating on the O'Jays' "I'll Never Forget You," Ashford convinced Chandler to sign on full-time with his fledgling Pied Piper Productions not only as a writer but also as a performer. Her first single, Ashford and Mike Terry's "What Can I Do," appeared on Jo Armstead's Giant label in 1966, becoming a smash in Detroit and Chicago. RCA then picked up the song for national distribution, soon followed by Chandler's sophomore effort, "I Can't Hold On." RCA also cut a production deal with Pied Piper that resulted in a series of Chandler-authored singles for the likes of the Cavaliers, the Metros, and Willie Kendrick. While in Chicago for an RCA-funded session, she also cut her third solo single, 1967's "I Can't Change." In addition to the RCA deal, Pied Piper negotiated a similar production agreement with Kapp, forcing Chandler to focus virtually of her time and energy behind the scenes. For singer Freddy Butler, she penned the singles "I Fell in Love" and "There Was a Time," and for the Hesitations she authored the pop radio hit "Soul Superman," "Wait a Minute," and "Clap Your Hands." In 1968 she and Ashford attempted to go it alone, founding their own Ashford label. The venture would yield just one single before going bankrupt, but what a single: Eddie Parker's "Love You Baby" was a flop upon its initial release, but enjoyed new life in the 1970s thanks to its massive popularity among the DJs and clubgoers populating Britain's Northern soul revival scene. When Ashford relocated from Detroit to Los Angeles in 1976, Chandler was left in limbo, and did not resurface until 1980, when she co-produced Parker's The Old, the New, the Blues LP, even headlining a pair of duets. In the decades to follow, Chandler was a staple of the Northern soul touring circuit, and indeed I met her when I went with Pat Lewis who was performing alongside Lorraine at Great Yarmouth in 1990. Then, back in early 1999, this was yet another legendary Northern Soul smash that we filmed for "The Strange World Of Northern Soul". This was first recorded in 1967 and then we recut it in 1999 when we were filming our marathon six disc, twenty four hour massive documentary about the entire history of the Northern Soul scene, which contained 131 specially recorded performances of all the classics, and is still available on a six disc box set from Wienerworld. We tracked Lorraine down to make this one and only one-time performance especially for us, for our ground breaking Encyclopedia Britannica of Northern Soul, and I am so glad that we did.
