People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has urged US ice cream makers Ben & Jerry's Homemade to replace cow's milk in ice cream by-products with milk."PETA's inquiry sky ins in the wake of discovery reports that a Swiss restaurant heir will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 per cent of the cow's milk in the food he serves," the animal rights group said. PETA officials say a move to breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their calves on factory farms and benefit human fine feather. "The fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy stuff made from milk that was meant for a baby cow objective doesn't produce sense," PETA spokeswoman Tracy Reiman said. "Everyone knows that the breast is perfect, so, Ben & Jerry's could do consumers and cows a big favour by making the switch to breast milk."
