Using the summerinfrant monitor I recorded the sounds on to the pc. You can also listen to the sounds with your partner or in the comfort of your own home on your own. The sounds vary. Basically sometimes you can pick up the heart beat, but depends on the position of the baby. The price we paid was under 30 pounds, but around 30 with the 9v battery that you have to get not supplied. The machines fits easily with a velcro strap. Don't expect results like the Midwife, because this machine is pretty basic and not ultrasound. So far Magne is around 17 weeks pregnant and I would say that the machine is best used when the baby is bigger. But appart from that its a brilliant piece of kit.
